Helping Bees in the Offseason
Presented by Lisa Phillips, Island County Master Gardener
Thursday, September 21, 2023
7:00 - 8:00 pm
Pacific Rim Institute, 180 Parker Rd, Coupeville
Pollinators have been getting lots of press in recent times, thanks to increasing awareness of their importance in our ecosystem. Pictures of buzzing bees in summer gardens are widespread. But what about the rest of the year – the early spring and fall – before and after the height of the blooming season? Lisa will discuss food, water, and habitat needs for bees in the offseason. Learn why bees need your help, what types of bees you will find in your garden, and the plants that will help them thrive.
Lisa Phillips is a Master Gardener and a beekeeper whose bees have pollinated plants all over Whidbey Island.
