About the Foundation
The Island County Master Gardener Foundation (ICMGF) has more than 90 members, all of whom are certified Master Gardeners or Master Gardener Interns. Our members volunteer all over Island County, working on projects to enhance natural beauty and sustainability of our environment.
The Foundation hosts two annual fund-raising events: The Whidbey Gardening Workshop and the Plant Sale
Whidbey Gardening Workshop
In early March of each year, the Whidbey Gardening Workshop provides over 45 classes for gardeners of all skill levels and interests. Join us at the Oak Harbor High School for the next workshop on Saturday, March 14, 2020. The workshop's new website has all details of classes and activities, including new pre-workshop field trips, https://www.whidbeygardening.org/
The Saturday before Mother's Day is devoted to the Master Gardener Plant Sale, held in the big barn at the Greenbank Farm. Plants are propagated and divided by Master Gardeners.
We host meetings and classes on gardening topics throughout the year - all open to the public. And we support the Master Gardener Educational Gardens at Greenbank Farm.
Classes - Open to the Public
Member meetings include educational presentations by local experts on a wide variety of topics.
During the summer, classes are also held at the Educational Gardens at Greenbank Farm.
Educational Gardens at Greenbank
The Educational Gardens at Greenbank showcase a variety of plants in eight different garden areas. Come and visit, learn something, and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the gardens.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors.
